When we asked one of the most “seasoned” Rotax competitors in the modern era to share his first experience racing the Rotax electric kart, we never knew quite what to expect. Not only was he excited, but increasingly interested and surprised by the E20. 

Kyle Lawrence has not only been a competitor at the RMC Grand Finals with Team South Africa during his successful racing career, but in 2024 he joined the livestream media team in Italy. He is now focussed on helping to develop the new generation of karters at home. Before he left Sarno, Kyle took the chance to put the Rotax E20 through its paces on track.

This year’s edition of the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Festival for Micro MAX and Mini MAX took place in Italy on August 30-31, where the new title-holders were celebrated after much intensely contested racing. The maiden Rotax E-Kart Cup Italy also featured on the program, organised by the Authorised Rotax Distributor Kart-Shop Italia and run in conjunction with the national RMC series with race entries totalling 144 drivers.

BRP-Rotax is thrilled to announce that CIK-FIA Approval has been confirmed for the Rotax E20 electric powertrain. This makes the new generation power unit the first ever E-Kart to be awarded this level of certification in karting. Adding to this ground-breaking news, the Rotax E20 championship at the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy becomes the first CIK-FIA Approved International Series for Electrically Powered Karts worldwide in 2024.

The official chassis partners for the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals 2024 have now been confirmed, as BRP-Rotax announces the manufacturers who will support all the qualified competitors with their brand new karts at the annual flagship event.

BRP-Rotax is pleased to announce the 2024 season program for the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy (RMCET) together with the Rotax MAX Challenge Winter Cup in collaboration with WSK Promotion, as the new event organiser.

The 2023 season of the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy is history. Last weekend, the decisions within the top-class racing series were made in Brandon, Great Britain. The championship celebrated its racing premiere on the Paul Fletcher International Circuit and thus presented challenges to a total of almost 160 drivers from all over the world. In exciting races in sometimes very difficult conditions, the new title holders in Europe's highest Rotax championship were finally crowned after the seventh and eighth rounds.

Motorsport racer Luca Koester had an exciting season in 2022: The 25-year-old driver from Germany fearlessly took on international circuits, leaving a trail of success in his wake. After clinching the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy, Luca secured his ticket to the RMC Grand Finals in Portimão, Portugal. There, too, the Kart-Magazin.de reporter was among the top drivers, narrowly missing out on overall victory in the closing moments of the final. The championship duels of the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy have begun. Last weekend in Genk, Belgium, the starting signal was given for the 2023 season of the international racing series of the Austrian engine manufacturer. 201 pilots from all over the world made their way to the challenging race track in Belgium and, after three action-packed days, crowned the first winners of the year.

BRP-Rotax is proud to announce that the 22nd edition of the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals (RMCGF) successfully took place in Portimao, Portugal at the Kartodromo International Algarve (KIA) from November 19 to 26, 2022. With a record number of 394 Rotax racers from more than 60 nations, who earned their ticket during the 2022 season, the event also saw the biggest kart line-up ever in the history of the RMC Grand Finals.

We had a fantastic week here at the Kartodromo Internacional Algarve in Portugal and crowned the champions of the 22nd Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals. Thrilling races, packed full of action and passion of our worldwide drivers and it was great to meet the whole Rotax Family, chat with old friends and made new ones.
